Get to know the photographer

Hi, I’m Sarah, the face behind Oyster and Oak Photography!

Hi, I’m Sarah, the face behind Oyster and Oak Photography! I’m a Savannah native, mama, wife, and lover of all things outdoors & travel. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me at home with my baby, serving and bartending, traveling or soaking up the salty air on the water—whether I’m shrimping, playing, or simply enjoying the view. I also have two golden retrievers and a cat, so there's always a lot of love and joy in our home. You could definitely say we do not live a dull life around here!

My husband James is a Crane Operator, so often times if he is home and I have a photo session you will often see him come with me as we take any time we can get with each other.  We are truly a family oriented unit.

Inspired by the beauty of hydrangeas and the peace of being on the water, I aim to capture the real, unposed moments that make your family, senior, or couple photos feel like timeless memories. While I do truly enjoy family photography I enjoy photography as a whole. I am always willing to learn something new!

Life is filled with irreplaceable moments that can slip away with time. I’m here to help you capture and keep them vivid.

Motherhood

Motherhood is full of messy, beautiful moments. As a mama to a little boy who’s always outside playing in mud puddles, or scaling the walls, I know how important it is to capture the real, everyday moments. I love to include the raw, unposed moments that show the true essence of motherhood—whether it’s laughter, love, or the little adventures in between. My goal is to help you preserve these memories that you’ll cherish forever. I want time to stand a little more still for you.

Photography

Being outdoors is where I truly thrive, and I find so much beauty in the landscapes and historic charm of our host city, Savannah. From the cobblestone streets to the coastal breezes, there's always something special to capture. I come from a long line of people who loved photography. In fact, My grandfather had a studio in his shop, he had a whole dark room and all to be able to develop pictures as well as taking them.

My approach is relaxed, focused on authenticity, and aimed at giving you images that feel as real and timeless as the memories they hold. We always want those perfect posed pictures so I am always sure to get a few of those but for the rest, I generally like for you to tell me your ideas or even to be able to capture your family as there own personalities shine through in there natural elements!
